Business Development Department (BDD) within BioSense is an international team engaged in:

• Managing the full-cycle of large scale projects, that include (among other activities) monitoring and evaluation of pilots progress in entire AgriFood chain.
• Hosting BioSense Accelerator, an initiative aiming to support startups of the agtech and foodtech sector in launching innovative products and services to the market.
• Preparing competitive proposals for EU funding (with exceptional performance in H2020).
• Diversifying income base of the Institute through advanced value proposition towards potential customers.
• Upgrading researchers’ competencies with respect to innovation and commercial awareness, through regular tailor-made training schemes and individual consultations.
• Monitoring market trends and advancements in science and technology while mapping the needs of the agrifood sector in order to provide support in drafting the strategic research agenda of BIOS.

The position:

• The successful candidate will be responsible for the management of various Horizon 2020 projects.

More specifically, his/her duties will include:

• Coordinating the implementation of multiple large scale projects, taking on responsibility for their progress and successful completion.
• Tracking, updating, and communicating project status in a proactive manner as it relates to project progress, change requests, issues, risks, and risk mitigation plans.
• Maintaining project plans, chairing and facilitating project meetings and producing project update reports.
• Collaborating with project stakeholders at all levels of management to ensure project priorities are aligned with business needs and expectations.
• Preparation of deliverables within the framework of projects implemented by the Institute.
• Representing the Institute in workshops/meetings in Serbia and abroad.
• Managing the Preparation of proposals.
• Building Relationships/Consortia with corporate and academic partners from all over Europe.

Profile:

• Post-graduate qualification (MSc and/or PhD) in agricultural studies and/or IT/engineering/environmental sciences and/or Management, Business or Economics related field. In case of absence of post-graduate qualifications, a combination of Bachelors degree and long-term relevant experience would be considered.
• Proven experience in a similar role, in terms of having senior role in managing EU-funded projects in thematic fields related to ICT, agriculture and/or other relevant fields.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills in English. Working in international environment (e.g. outside Serbia) will be considered as an asset.
• Excellent drafting, coordination and problem-solving skills.
• Strong organizational and time management ability and a conscientious approach to deadlines.
• Advanced interpersonal and networking skills.
• Understanding of challenges in the global agrifood sector and the potential of ICT in addressing them is desirable.
