Chief Accountant

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for Record to Report cycle of accounting transactions
• Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual sets of financial reports in accordance with local and IFRS requests
• Preparation of the Tax balance reports
• Ensure an accurate and timely monthly up to date recording of all financial transaction
• Cooperation with the external auditors to carry out annual external auditing
• Developing and implementing policies and procedures with emphasis on internal control
• Developing the new accounting procedures
• Supporting the budget and forecast activities
• Cooperation with the other department managers to support achievement the company goals
• Supervision the day-to-day operation of the accountant, advising staff regarding non-routine reporting transactions
• Participation in implementation and developing accounting software
• Permanent education in new tax and accounting rules, regulations and standards
• Coaching and mentoring of accounting teams
• Maintain up to date cashflow with short and long term projections
• Responsible for ensuring adherence to all local fiscal regulations
• Maintaining healthy work relationship with the bankers and consultants
• Other financial management duties assigned by the supervisors and company management

Desired candidate profile:

• University degree preferably in Accounting/Finance. ACCA qualification will be consider as an advantage
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Accounting Manager / Chief Accountant role, particularly in production company preferably in Agribusiness
• Excellent knowledge of the accounting and tax law
• Working knowledge and adequate practice in IFRS rules and application
• Advanced knowledge of the work in the MS Office package
• Good knowledge of the English language
• Accurate, serious and independent accounting professional
