Accountant

Our client is a leading international real estate development company, delivering large-scale residential, hospitality, retail, commercial, and mixed-use projects across multiple markets. As part of their continued growth, they are seeking an experienced:

 ACCOUNTANT

(Belgrade)

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Timely and accurate bookkeeping of all incoming documentation and transactions
• Month and year-end close process and preparation of financial statements
• Conduct regular review of trial balance and account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance
• Monitoring of the fixed assets register
• Preparation of payment orders and payment processing in e-banking 
• Bank book, reconciliation and bookkeeping of bank statements  
• Communication with the banks, administrative work related to opening and maintenance of the bank accounts and other administrative works based on bank requests  
• Communicating with customers and suppliers, confirming, and reconciling open items and assisting customers and suppliers in obtaining accurate documentation
• Tax reporting and compliance
• Reporting for management and shareholders
• Supporting internal and external audits 
• Ensures compliance with finance policies and procedures
• Participation in the implementation of new software
• Other tasks as requested by superiors

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• BS degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant
• Proven experience on senior position in accounting, minimum 5 years of experience
• Knowledge of local and international legislation in finance and accounting
• Knowledge of IFRS
• Sound understanding of process and transactional flows
• Strong practical and theoretical knowledge of general ledger accounting principles
• Strong analytical skills paired with knowlege of financial analysis and business concepts
• High level of operational effectiveness with the ability to deliver quality results
• Experienced and skilled user of MS Office, SAP/Oracle or any major ERP system
