ZHUXIN CONSTRUCTION ENGINEERING D.O.O. BEOGRAD is publishing a job announcement for position Accountant

Work place: Surčin, Beograd

Responsibilities:

• Take full charge of the Serbian subsidiary’s full-cycle accounting: prepare accounting vouchers, maintain books of account, and perform month-end and year-end closing in accordance with Serbian local accounting standards; prepare local statutory financial statements; support the Chinese group head office in submitting management reports and handle foreign currency translation and exchange accounting.
• Independently complete monthly and quarterly filings for all applicable taxes, including Value-Added Tax (VAT), Corporate Income Tax (CIT), Personal Income Tax (PIT) and social security contributions; proficiently operate the e-Porezi tax platform; handle reverse charge transactions in the construction industry; support tax inspections and the annual external audit.
• Be responsible for the documentation preparation, register maintenance, maturity tracking, renewal and cancellation of bank guarantees of all kinds, including Performance Bonds, Advance Payment Guarantees and Retention Money Guarantees; participate in the financial review of procurement, subcontracting and service contracts and issue financial review opinions.
• Sort out, implement and continuously optimize the subsidiary’s financial processes in line with the requirements of the group head office; conduct daily review of receipts and payments and implement the Chinese side’s fund approval procedures; reconcile current accounts (receivables and payables), maintain related ledgers and carry out periodic clean-up; follow up on the collection of project progress payments and issue early warnings on overdue receivables; regularly reconcile payables due to suppliers and partners, sort out payment due dates, and keep the entire fund flow clear and controllable.
• Handle day-to-day bank account administration, bank reconciliations and the preparation of bank reconciliation statements; maintain ledgers for project Interim Payment Certificate (IPC) progress settlements and retention money; complete accounting for construction subcontracts; review project expense reimbursement claims and petty disbursements; set up auxiliary project cost ledgers and support project cost analysis.
• Perform payroll calculations; withhold, remit and declare employees’ Personal Income Tax and social security contributions; organize and archive all accounting vouchers, ledgers, contracts and tax documents.
• Liaise with external parties including tax authorities, banks and external auditors; work together with the Chinese project team and the commercial & contracts team to complete all finance-related work.

Qualifications and Requirments

• College degree or above in finance, accounting or a related discipline, with at least 5 years of hands-on full-cycle accounting experience in Serbia; experience in construction company finance, bank guarantee management, contract review or financial process establishment is preferred.
• Well-versed in Serbian tax filing procedures and proficient in using the e-Porezi system; familiar with VAT, Corporate Income Tax and payroll/social security filings.
• Native-level proficiency in Serbian and fluent written and spoken English, able to communicate with the Chinese team for work purposes.
• Proficient in common office software and familiar with local accounting software.
• Rigorous and compliance-minded, able to strictly observe tax filing and closing deadlines, with good communication skills and strong process implementation and execution capability.
• Knowledge of construction subcontracting, project progress settlements and bank guarantee business is preferred.
• Ability to use English for basic work purposes is an advantage
