Accounting Specialist

MML Alliance is looking for a reliable, detail-oriented, and organized Accounting Specialist to join our team.

This position is primarily focused on driver accounting, payment tracking, preparation of driver statements, and communication with drivers and internal departments. We are looking for someone who is comfortable working with numbers, managing multiple responsibilities, and maintaining accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing and reviewing weekly driver statements
• Tracking, processing, and controlling driver payments
• Reviewing deductions, reimbursements, advances, and other statement-related transactions
• Communicating with drivers regarding statements, payments, deductions, and accounting-related questions
• Verifying the accuracy of payment and settlement information
• Identifying and resolving discrepancies before payments are processed
• Maintaining accurate accounting records and supporting documentation
• Organizing and updating spreadsheets, reports, and payment records
• Coordinating with Dispatch, Operations, Safety, and other departments when necessary
• Monitoring outstanding balances and payment-related issues
• Assisting with general accounting and administrative tasks
• Ensuring that accounting procedures and internal deadlines are followed

Requirements

• Strong English language skills – both written and verbal
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work with numbers and financial information
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
• Professional and responsible approach to confidential financial information
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Relevant accounting, finance, or trucking industry experience is preferred

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate is someone who is organized, responsible, communicative, and detail-oriented. Since this role involves direct communication with drivers and handling payment-related matters, professionalism, patience, and the ability to resolve issues efficiently are essential.

Previous experience with driver settlements, trucking accounting, payroll, accounts payable, or transportation industry accounting will be considered a strong advantage.
