Application Engineer

WHES is seeking a skilled Application Engineer with experience in utility-scale solar, energy storage, or wind. The ideal candidate will support the design, deployment, and technical support of BESS projects, combining strong engineering knowledge with customer-facing communication and coordination skills.

Responsibilities:

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in the utility-scale renewable energy industry solar, energy storage or wind.
• Be able to read and analyze project technical requirements, organize project research, technical exchanges, site surveys, etc.
• Understanding the functionality of BESS in various applications and scenarios has a strong advantage.
• Serves customers by identifying their needs and engineering adaptations of products, equipment, and services.
• Identifies current and future customer service requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual customers and others in a position to understand service requirements.
• Provides product, service, or equipment technical and engineering information by answering questions and requests.
• Develop customer’s knowledge and understanding of our solutions by providing technical information and training.
• Prepares sales engineering reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing sales information and engineering and application trends.
• Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
• Maintains and updates relevant documentation systems, proposal template, case study, training materials, etc.
• Responsible for project preliminary design and inter-department coordination to support project realization.
• Contributes to sales engineering effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range issues that must be addressed, recommending options and courses of action, and implementing directives.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or above, majoring in power electronics, electrical engineering and automation or related fields, relevant working experience preferred.
• Familiar with energy storage, photovoltaic, medium and low voltage electrical and control technology solutions, prospective view towards the market and industry.
• Good communicating and coordinating skills, be able to fluently introduce and demonstrate the company and/or its products and solutions.
• Writing, office software and relevant tools. Include but not limited to BESS technical proposal, tender documents, introduction and training materials.
• Outgoing and cheerful personality, responsible and good teamwork spirit.
• Knowledge of the German language is desirable.
