Artistic Mould Maker - Art Production Team Member

Jan Eugster d.o.o. Belgrade is looking for a new team member to join our mould-making and art production department. Our workshop is located in the Elektronska Industrija complex in Zemun Polje, Belgrade, Serbia. 

We produce sculptures, reliefs and other artworks in close collaboration with artists. The work moves between traditional craftsmanship, contemporary materials, problem-solving and experimentation.

This is a hands-on artistic position requiring patience, precision, technical thinking and a strong understanding of form and surface. As we work in a small team, flexibility is essential: everyone is expected to collaborate and help with different stages of production when needed. Good spoken and written English is required. 

What the work may include

• Developing and making moulds for sculptures, reliefs and other artworks
• Working with silicone, polyurethane, plaster, polyester, epoxy resins, fibre-glass, wax and other materials
• Preparing models and surfaces for mould making
• Sculpting, modeling, modifying and finishing models
• Post-production on metal sculptures, including chiseling, chasing, reconstructing surfaces and refining details
• Occasional painting and surface-finishing work, depending on your interests and skills
• Helping with other workshop and production tasks when needed

We are looking for someone who enjoys making things and understands that good work takes patience and attention.

You should be:

• Practical, precise and comfortable working with your hands
• Patient and attentive to form, detail and surface
• Interested in art, sculpture and how artworks are made
• Resourceful when something requires a new solution
• Able to learn quickly and open to unfamiliar materials and processes
• Reliable and comfortable working closely with a small team
• Willing to help wherever needed during the production of an artwork

A background in sculpture would fit this position very well, but formal education is not essential. Practical ability, sensitivity to form and surface, curiosity and willingness to learn are just as important.

Experience with mould making, wax, metal finishing, painting or other sculptural processes is welcome. Knowledge of Rhino or Blender would also be useful.
