Associate - Corporate/M&A Law

The Role

We are currently seeking a highly motivated Associate to join our Corporate/M&A team in our Belgrade office. Our Belgrade Corporate/M&A team advises clients on acquisitions, disposals, joint ventures, corporate reorganisations and other strategic transactions, as well as on a broad range of day-to-day corporate and commercial matters. We regularly manage sophisticated, high-value and multi-jurisdictional mandates, helping clients identify and address legal and regulatory risks and execute transactions efficiently and with commercial precision.

Key Responsibilities

• Advising clients on a broad range of corporate and M&A matters, including domestic and cross-border transactions.
• Coordinating and leading legal due diligence processes, including the preparation and review of due diligence reports and the management of local and international workstreams.
• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating transactional documents, including share purchase agreements, shareholders’ agreements, joint venture agreements and other corporate and commercial documentation.
• Supporting senior lawyers and partners on large-scale and multi-jurisdictional transactions, ensuring consistently high-quality work and timely delivery.
• Drafting legal advice and other documents with precision, clarity and sound commercial judgement.
• Conducting detailed legal research, identifying legal and regulatory risks, and providing informed, proactive and commercially oriented advice to clients.
• Managing client communications and coordinating with colleagues, advisers and other stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions.
• Contributing to the development of the practice through client presentations, legal updates, thought-leadership initiatives, conferences and other business-development activities.

Key Skills and Experience Required

• Three to five years of relevant experience in corporate and M&A law, gained at a reputable law firm or in a comparable professional environment.
• Strong knowledge of Serbian corporate and commercial law and the legal and regulatory framework applicable to M&A transactions.
• Full professional fluency in English and Serbian, both spoken and written.
• Excellent analytical, legal research and drafting skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
• The ability to take ownership of workstreams and operate both independently and collaboratively as part of a wider transaction team.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills, including the ability to manage competing priorities and perform effectively under pressure.
• High ethical standards, intellectual curiosity and a proactive, practical and solution-oriented approach.
• A strong commitment to delivering high-quality legal services and contributing to the continued growth and reputation of the practice.
