We are seeking a part-time contract based biomedical engineer to join our team and lead specific projects from design through to production.
Position overview
The Biomedical Engineer will seamlessly integrate product development with production execution. In this role, you will be responsible for engineering core concepts into functional, market-ready surgical instruments, while simultaneously acting as the primary technical liaison to our global manufacturing partners.
Key responsibilities
- Prototype and refine advanced surgical instruments, successfully translating complex clinical requirements into high-precision engineering solutions.
- Serve as the principal point of contact for global external manufacturing partners and suppliers, managing technical specifications and production alignment.
- Oversee manufacturing processes remotely, ensuring strict compliance with engineering designs, quality standards, and production scalability.
Qualifications & preferred experience
- A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Biomedical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
- Prior engineering experience within the orthopedics sector, specifically regarding shoulder and knee related projects, is highly advantageous.
- Experience managing or collaborating with medical device manufacturing facilities internationally.
- Advanced competency in CAD software alongside a comprehensive understanding of medical-grade materials, fabrication methodologies, and regulatory compliance frameworks.

- High attention to detail, precision in engineering documentation, tolerance analysis, and ability to execute quality assurance protocols.
- Exceptional communication skills, ability to articulate complex technical data clearly and effectively to cross-functional internal teams and international suppliers.
- Flexibility to occasionally attend scheduled business meetings during afternoon hours to ensure seamless collaboration with our operations in various time zones.
- Analytical problem solving, a proactive approach to troubleshooting, with the ability to anticipate manufacturing bottlenecks, mitigate risks, and implement corrective actions remotely.
- Ability to manage concurrent project phases, from CAD modeling to supply chain delivery schedules, independently and efficiently.
