We are looking for an individual based in Serbia to join our team as a part-time contractor, working from your own home office, while providing professional, honest, and helpful service to our clients.

We run a merit-based culture where asking questions and bringing ideas is expected, not a sign of weakness. We'd rather you ask 10 questions and get it right than guess and redo it.

You are best suited for this role if you:

• are able to motivate yourself to stay on task working independently;
• are comfortable asking questions when unsure, rather than guessing;
• are comfortable working to deadlines; and,
• care deeply about doing accurate, careful work for clients.

The role requires that you have:

• a minimum of 3 years of experience with QuickBooks Online;
• a solid understanding of US accounting principles;
• excellent written and spoken English, as this is a client-facing role;
• experience with Google Drive;
• a reliable computer capable of running our secure client portal, with up-to-date cybersecurity in place;
• reliable home internet — no coffee shop or public wifi; and,
• willingness to register (or already be registered) as a sole trader (paušalac) in Serbia — a fast, low-cost process we're happy to point you toward.

You will provide bookkeeping services to our clients, working within our systems and the Pure Bookkeeping method (training provided), including:

• processing expenses, bills and bill payments;
• entering invoices and invoice payments;
• clearing bank feeds and reconciling accounts;
• payroll processing and reporting;
• Florida sales tax filing;
• other duties as assigned.

This role starts with a 3-month paid trial, with pay starting at $6-9/hr USD and increasing incrementally as you hit training milestones. After the trial, it's choose-your-own-adventure: stay focused on well-defined task work, or grow into a role that includes independent research and problem-solving under mentorship. Either path, ongoing training is part of the job.
