Chinese Translator

ZHUXIN CONSTRUCTION ENGINEERING D.O.O. BEOGRAD is publishing a job announcement for position of a Chinese Translator.

Work place: Surčin, Beograd

Responsibilities:

• Provide day-to-day interpretation and translation between Chinese and Serbian for the company;
• Provide on-site interpretation for business negotiations, project meetings, and communications with government authorities and partner organizations;
• Translate and organize incoming and outgoing correspondence, meeting minutes, contract documents, quotation materials and other business documents;
• Assist Chinese management personnel in communicating with Serbian government departments, partners, suppliers and employees;
• Prepare meeting minutes in Serbian or bilingually (Chinese and Serbian) based on meeting content, and follow up on the implementation of related matters;
• Assist with daily administrative work, external liaison, appointment scheduling, document submission and filing;
• Liaise with material suppliers to confirm supply lead times and delivery schedules, urge deliveries in line with construction progress, and promptly report any supply irregularities;
• Handle urgent on-site needs; coordinate the supply of miscellaneous auxiliary materials, tools and instruments; when necessary, purchase materials off-site to ensure uninterrupted material supply for the site;
• Be stationed on site during peak workload periods and support auxiliary site management work;
• Establish and maintain the company’s Chinese–Serbian bilingual terminology database;
• Complete other translation and coordination tasks assigned by the company

Qualifications and Requirments:

• Native-level proficiency in Serbian, with good Chinese listening, speaking, reading and writing skills;
• Bachelor’s degree or above in Chinese language, linguistics, translation, international relations, economics, law or other related disciplines;
• In principle, HSK Level 5 or above; HSK Level 6 is preferred;
• Candidates who have studied, lived or worked in China are preferred;
• Experience in Chinese translation, business coordination or employment with Chinese enterprises is preferred;
• Experience in translating construction engineering, transportation, municipal, contract or administrative documents will be given priority consideration;
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email and other office tools;
• Conscientious and responsible, with a strong awareness of confidentiality and good communication and time management skills;
• Ability to use English for basic work purposes is an advantage
