DPM Metals Inc. is a Canadian-based, international mining company engaged in the acquisition, exploration, development, mining, and processing of precious metals. DPM operates across Serbia, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Ecuador with headquarters in Toronto, Canada.
For the needs of our “Čoka Rakita” Project department in the in the territory of the municipality of Žagubica, we are currently looking to recruit a candidate for the Civil Engineer position.
Role Purpose:
To provide Civil Engineering services, project management, and problem resolution across all project phases, including study, planning (FEL), execution, commissioning, and handover, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with required standards, company procedures, and Environment, Health and Safety regulations in multinational environments.
Description of responsibilities:
- Lead and manage Civil Engineering activities throughout all project phases, from study and planning (FEL) through execution, commissioning, and handover.
- Coordinate and manage consultants, contractors, suppliers, fabricators, and other internal and external project stakeholders.
- Oversee the development and review of civil, hydrotechnical, structural, and related engineering designs, technical documentation, specifications, and data sheets.
- Coordinate interdisciplinary reviews, resolve technical interfaces and clashes, and ensure alignment with project requirements and company standards.
- Prepare or supervise cost estimates, bills of materials, tender documentation, and technical evaluations of bids, quotations, and consulting or construction services.
- Monitor project budgets, schedules, resources, and discipline costs to support safe, efficient, on-time, and in-budget project delivery.
- Support procurement, contract administration, technical queries, work change requests, claims, and design variations during project implementation.
- Provide engineering support to construction, surveying, plant and equipment activities, as well as pre-commissioning, commissioning, performance testing, and operational readiness.
- Liaise with permitting authorities, site operational personnel, and project teams to ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, operational, and project approval requirements.
- Supervise and support team members by setting objectives, monitoring performance, developing capabilities, and promoting effective multidisciplinary collaboration.
- Identify risks, delays, inefficiencies, and cost-saving opportunities, and recommend practical solutions to improve project execution and outcomes.
- Ensure full compliance with company procedures, applicable legislation, and Environment, Health, and Safety requirements, including participation in incident investigations, communication of lessons learned, and delivery of safety instructions.
Requirements:
- University degree in Civil Engineering or another relevant engineering discipline.
- Minimum of three years of experience in a similar role.
- Experience in engineering, construction, industrial, mining, infrastructure, or capital projects is preferred.
- Experience working in multinational and multidisciplinary teams.
- Good knowledge of cost and budget monitoring, analysis, and reporting.
- Good knowledge of schedule preparation, tracking, and administration.
- Basic understanding of procurement, contract administration, and cost control.
- Knowledge of project finance management and accounting.
- Good understanding of the full project life cycle.
- Knowledge of applicable local and international regulations related to capital projects.
- Very good command of English.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Project, and document management software.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage conflicting priorities.
