About the role

We are looking for Software Developers with COBOL experience to join our team and work on the development and maintenance of enterprise-level software solutions for a US-based client in the financial services industry.

In this role, you will collaborate with experienced engineers and client representatives to improve existing applications, develop new functionalities, and ensure system stability and performance.

What you'll do:

• Develop, maintain, and improve COBOL-based applications used in financial operations.
• Work with business and technical teams to understand requirements and deliver practical solutions.
• Investigate application issues and implement fixes to improve system reliability.
• Collaborate with team members to review solutions and maintain code quality.
• Support application releases, system updates, and production activities.
• Contribute to technical documentation and share knowledge within the development team.

What we’re looking for:

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Intermediate knowledge of COBOL.
• Good knowledge of relational databases and SQL.
• Good understanding of the software development lifecycle.
• Ability to write clear technical documentation, such as functional specifications and process documentation.
• Degree in Computer Science, IT or a related field, or equivalent certification or coursework.
• Good English, since you’ll be working with US clients.

Nice to have:

• Java experience.
• Experience in financial services, insurance or accounting.
• Agile/Scrum experience.
• Knowledge of XML, JSON, REST and web technologies.
• Experience with MSSQL, DB2 or Oracle.
• Experience with Git or SVN and Jira.
