About Via

Via is building a Serbian-language digital savings and investing platform designed to make long-term investing more accessible, understandable and trusted. Founded by an experienced Nordic team and backed by Inspira Grupa, Via is establishing its regulated investment company in Belgrade, subject to the required approvals.

The role

We are looking for a hands-on Chief Technology Officer to build Via's technology function from formation and licensing through implementation, launch and regulated operations. The CTO will own four connected areas: the core investment-platform and operating setup; Via-owned product and front-end engineering; internal IT, cybersecurity and resilience; and Via's internal AI platform, the Company Brain.

Via will combine specialist external platforms and financial-market services with its own customer channels, integrations, data capabilities and operational tools. This is an executive builder role: the CTO must set direction, hold suppliers accountable and remain close enough to architecture and code to ensure the complete service works safely end to end.

What you will own

• Define Via's technology strategy, target architecture, delivery roadmap and build-buy-partner decisions in line with the business model, licensing plan and risk appetite.
• Select and govern the core investment platform, back-office and other material technology providers, including delivery, security, resilience, data ownership, service levels and transition arrangements.
• Lead integration across customer identity and KYC/AML, payments and banking, custody, execution, market infrastructure, market data, reporting and support systems.
• Own technical delivery from requirements and architecture through testing, reconciliation, cutover, go-live and stable production operation.
• Lead the quality and development of Via's web, mobile and operator channels, and build Via-owned services, APIs, integrations and operational tools where these create strategic value or control.
• Establish practical engineering standards for architecture, code, automated testing, CI/CD, infrastructure, observability, documentation and controlled releases; contribute personally where needed during the build stage.
• Develop the Company Brain into a secure, permission-aware internal AI platform for knowledge, decision support and workflows, with reliable sources, auditability and human approval for higher-risk actions.
• Own company IT, cybersecurity, access governance, data protection, business continuity, disaster recovery and incident management across Via and its critical suppliers.
• Build a focused internal technology team, manage budget and priorities, and communicate clearly with management, the board, regulators, auditors and partners.

What we are looking for

• A strong record in software engineering and technology delivery, normally gained over at least ten years, with meaningful recent hands-on work and several years of technical leadership.
• Experience building, implementing or operating regulated or transaction-critical capital market systems where correctness, sensitive data, auditability, availability and resilience are essential.
• Practical knowledge of investment, brokerage, exchange, post-trade, wealth-management, core-banking, payments or comparable transaction-processing platforms.
• Evidence of leading a complex platform implementation or modernisation involving external providers and multiple integrations, from architecture and commercial challenge through production operation.
• Strong architecture capability across APIs, distributed services, cloud infrastructure, data platforms, web applications, automated delivery, observability and security.
• The ability and willingness to write, review and debug production-quality code and assess work delivered by employees, consultants and suppliers.
• Sufficient applied-AI engineering depth to own architecture and controls, evaluate specialist partners and turn prototypes into governed production capabilities.
• Excellent English and effective professional Serbian; a relevant university degree or equivalent professional depth.

Strong advantages

• Direct experience with an investment platform, broker, stock exchange, custodian, wealth manager, bank or financial-software provider.
• Knowledge of order and trade lifecycles, settlement, custody, portfolio accounting, reconciliation and regulatory reporting.
• Experience delivering customer-facing web or mobile products and high-availability cloud systems.
• Production work with enterprise identity and cloud environments, retrieval-augmented generation, AI agents, evaluation or observability.
• Experience supporting a regulated launch or building a technology function, product or platform from an early-stage starting point.
