Finance Controller

We are looking for a motivated, analytical and proactive finance professional to support and further strengthen the company’s controlling and reporting operations.

ABOUT THE POSITION

We are looking for a Finance Controller who combines strong analytical capabilities with a hands-on operational mindset. This role goes beyond standard reporting responsibilities. We are looking for someone who understands the business behind the numbers, identifies deviations and trends, and contributes to better decision-making through accurate financial analysis and insights. You will work closely with the Controlling Manager, Finance Manager, Managing Director and cross-functional teams, supporting both operational and strategic finance activities. As part of the role, you will also participate in the ongoing S/4HANA implementation under the Record to Report (R2R) stream, supporting the transition and helping ensure Finance requirements are effectively reflected in the new system.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Core controlling, closing & reporting — the operational backbone of the role:

• Run the month-end closing process for local, cluster and global reporting purposes, including control of journal entries and application of IFRS.
• Prepare monthly P&L, Balance Sheet, Capex and Opex reporting, including detailed variance analysis and explanations across key financial areas.
• Analyse Gross Profit performance, including price/kg variance analysis by region, salesperson and customer.
• Monitor KPIs and support performance tracking through meaningful financial analysis.
• Perform accrual calculations, cost checks and monitoring of profit & cost center postings.
• Participate in the preparation of annual Budget and Forecast cycles.
• Prepare ad hoc analyses and reports in cooperation with the accounting and commercial teams.

Business partnering & insight:

• Support management and business teams with financial analysis and recommendations, including identification of financial risks, inconsistencies and improvement opportunities, as well as preparation of profitability analyses by channel, customer, division and product.

Process & reporting improvement:

• Contribute to the improvement and automation of financial processes, controls and reporting tools, supporting initiatives that increase reporting accuracy, transparency and efficiency.

S/4HANA Key User – Record to Report

• Contribute to the Record to Report stream under the S/4HANA implementation project, including support for testing, process validation and deployment activities, as well as assisting colleagues during the transition and contributing to knowledge sharing within the Finance team.

WHAT YOU BRING:

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics.
• Relevant controlling / business finance experience.
• SAP experience is required; participation in an S/4HANA implementation project is considered an advantage.
• Advanced Excel skills and solid understanding of IFRS and month-end closing processes.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Proactive and structured approach to work.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a dynamic business environment.
• Advanced written and spoken English.
• Experience in FMCG, HoReCa or B2B sales environments is an advantage.
