Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst

Job Purpose:

To provide accurate, concise, and high-quality financial analysis to the management of Menzies Aviation’s business operations in Belgrade. This is a hands-on operational role covering most financial aspects of ground handling and cargo operations in Belgrade, including internal and external financial reporting, flash reporting, budgeting and forecasting. In addition to financial reporting, the role holder is expected to deliver valuable insights into financial drivers to support better management decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain financial oversight of business units, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
  • Support the month-end close process, including preparation of monthly reports, review of accruals, and variance analysis.
  • Participate in weekly and monthly forecasting processes, including preparation of forecast files and support for system uploads (e.g. OneStream).
  • Conduct detailed analysis of revenue, costs, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to support management decision-making.
  • Prepare monthly reporting packages, including business performance analyses (actual versus budget) to provide a better understanding of revenue drivers.
  • Produce regular reports such as JU reports and monthly PRM service reports.
  • Perform ad hoc and what-if financial analyses to assess business scenarios and identify opportunities for performance improvement.
  • Monitor accounts receivable and regularly follow up on overdue outstanding balances; support DSO monitoring and reporting.
  • Participate in the calculation and analysis of ancillary revenues and bonus schemes.
  • Support the preparation of pricing proposals for new clients through financial modeling and analysis.
  • Develop a strong understanding of key operational and financial systems (billing, workforce scheduling, labor management, procurement) to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in financial records and reports.
  • Collaborate with operational and regional teams to provide financial insights and drive business improvement.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven experience in finance-related roles.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to influence, challenge, and implement change.
  • Hands-on approach and ability to provide guidance in a demanding and fast-paced business environment.
  • Self-motivated, disciplined, and highly organized, with excellent time management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
  • High level of integrity.
  • Strong attention to detail and a solid work ethic.
  • Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate financial information clearly to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
  • Newly qualified or part-qualified Chartered Accountant (or equivalent).

Requirements:

  • University degree in Economics or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in similar roles
  • Experience in payroll accounting and salary calculations
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems and financial planning tools (e.g., OneStream) is an advantage.
  • Proficient in English
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, accountability, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Accuracy, responsibility, and strong organizational skills
  • Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, Chartered Accountant, or equivalent), either completed or in progress, is an advantage.
