We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Fleet Safety Specialist to lead our safety programs, minimize risk, and support our professional driving team.

Position Overview

As the Safety Specialist, you will oversee day-to-day safety operations, maintain DOT/FMCSA compliance, manage driver onboarding, and foster a strong culture of safety across our box truck operations. You will work closely with fleet managers, dispatch, and drivers to ensure our vehicles and personnel meet all legal and internal safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Compliance & Regulation: Monitor and maintain compliance with local, state, and FMCSA/DOT regulations applicable to commercial motor vehicle (CMV) and non-CDL box truck fleets.

Driver Onboarding & Qualification: Manage the Driver Qualification (DQ) file process, including background checks, motor vehicle records (MVR) reviews, medical certifications, and drug/alcohol testing programs (DOT and company policy).

Training & Orientation: Conduct new-hire safety orientations and ongoing driver safety training focused on box truck operations (e.g., clearance awareness, cargo securement, safe backing, and defensive driving).

Incident & Claims Management: Lead investigations for accidents, injuries, and property damage. Document findings, determine root causes, maintain DOT logs, and coordinate with insurance carriers.
