Interface Manager
Job Description:
Key Responsibilities
1. Interface Management System Establishment
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve the Interface Management Plan (IMP)
- Establish standardized procedures, workflows, and templates for interface management
- Ensure compliance with contractual requirements (e.g. ER, TOR) and project management systems
2. Interface Identification & Definition
- Identify and define interfaces across disciplines (civil, architectural, MEP, systems, external stakeholders)
- Clearly define scope demarcation and responsibility boundaries between parties
- Establish and maintain the Interface Register and Interface Control Documents (ICDs)
3. Interface Coordination & Communication
- Organize and lead interface coordination meetings (internal and external)
- Track interface issues and ensure timely resolution and closure
- Act as the key coordination point among multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders
4. Interface Documentation & Control
- Prepare, review, and manage interface-related documents (ICDs, interface matrices, etc.)
- Ensure consistency and completeness of design inputs and outputs across disciplines
- Manage interface impacts arising from design changes and integrate into configuration management
5. Schedule & Risk Management
- Monitor interface-related activities against the project schedule
- Identify potential delays and interface risks, and propose mitigation measures
- Maintain and track interface risk registers
6. Stakeholder Coordination
- Interface with Employer, PMC, designers, contractors, and system suppliers (e.g. signaling, rolling stock)
- Coordinat critical interfaces between civil works and system works
- Support clarification of interface-related contractual and technical matters
7. Reporting
- Prepare interface management reports (weekly/monthly)
- Report interface status, key issues, and risks to the Project Manager
- Support preparation of Minutes of Meeting (MoM) and follow-up on action items
Qualifications & Requirements
1. Education
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Railway Engineering, or related disciplines
2. Experience
- Minimum 10 years of experience in rail transit or large-scale infrastructure projects
- Experience in at least one full-cycle metro/railway project (design and/or construction phases)
- Proven experience in interface management or multidisciplinary design coordination preferred
3. Technical Competencies
- Solid understanding of rail transit systems (civil, track, E&M, and systems integration)
- Proficient in interface management tools (Interface Register, ICDs, etc.)
- Familiarity with FIDIC or similar contract frameworks is an advantage
4. Language Skills
- Good command of English (written and spoken)
- Knowledge of local language (e.g. Serbian) is a plus
5. Core Competencies
- Strong communication and coordination skills
- Ability to manage cross-functional and multicultural teams
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a project-driven environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in international projects (Europe, Middle East, etc.)
- Experience with PMC, EPC contractor, or design consultant roles
- Familiarity with Eurocodes and local regulatory frameworks
- Experience in establishing interface management systems for large projects
