Your Role

As Junior DevOps Engineer, you contribute to the implementation and operation of PWO Group's global DevOps platforms, CI/CD processes, and deployment automation. Your primary focus is on Azure DevOps, Git-based workflows, build and release pipelines, artifact management, and the reliable operation of supporting platform services. You work closely with development, infrastructure, cloud, and application teams to improve how technical solutions are built, tested, and deployed. The DevOps Platform Engineer provides structured training, technical guidance, code reviews, and mentoring, while disciplinary leadership remains with the Team Lead IT Infrastructure & Network. Over time, you will develop broader experience in cloud services, containers, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code, and cloud-agnostic platform concepts.

Your Responsibilities Encompass

CI/CD Pipelines & Deployment Automation

• Create and maintain build, test, and deployment pipelines under technical guidance
• Support automation of application and infrastructure deployment processes
• Maintain pipeline definitions, deployment templates, and configuration files
• Assist teams in integrating applications and technical components into standardized pipelines
• Analyze pipeline failures and resolve standard issues
• Support reusable pipeline components and deployment patterns

Azure DevOps & Git Platform Support

• Support administration and operation of Azure DevOps services
• Maintain repositories, project structures, permissions, service connections, and access assignments
• Assist with Git workflows, branches, pull requests, and repository standards
• Support artifact repositories, package feeds, and retention processes
• Process standard service requests and platform changes according to defined procedures
• Contribute to consistent use of Azure DevOps across technical teams and projects

DevOps Platform Operations

• Monitor availability and health of DevOps platforms and supporting services
• Process standard incidents and requests involving pipelines, repositories, agents, and artifacts
• Support administration of build agents, runners, service accounts, and technical integrations
• Perform maintenance and upgrade activities according to documented procedures
• Assist with capacity, performance, and availability monitoring
• Escalate complex platform issues with complete technical documentation

Automation & Technical Tooling

• Develop and maintain scripts, pipeline components, configuration files, and deployment templates
• Use YAML, PowerShell, and Python for defined automation requirements
• Help replace repetitive manual activities with controlled automation
• Maintain technical documentation for scripts, pipelines, interfaces, and procedures
• Follow established development, security, testing, and version-control standards
• Participate in technical reviews and implement feedback from the DevOps Platform Engineer

Cloud & Container Platform Support

• Support integration of CI/CD processes with Azure and other platform services
• Assist with container build, testing, storage, and deployment processes
• Gain practical experience with containers, Kubernetes, Linux, and cloud-native services
• Support teams in connecting applications and environments to the DevOps platform
• Contribute to portable and cloud-agnostic deployment approaches
• Follow defined architecture, security, and operational standards

Infrastructure as Code Development

• Build practical knowledge of Infrastructure as Code concepts and working methods
• Support defined activities involving Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates, or comparable technologies
• Assist with testing and validating infrastructure templates under technical guidance
• Learn how infrastructure changes are reviewed, versioned, approved, and deployed
• Contribute to documentation and reusable examples
• Gradually assume more responsibility as knowledge and experience develop

Security, Quality & Governance

• Follow security requirements for repositories, pipelines, credentials, permissions, and service connections
• Support secure handling of secrets, certificates, tokens, and technical identities
• Apply defined review, testing, approval, and release procedures
• Contribute to identifying and remediating security or configuration issues
• Support traceability and documentation of platform and pipeline changes
• Participate in code reviews and technical quality checks

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

• Work closely with the DevOps Platform Engineer, application teams, infrastructure specialists, and external partners
• Support development and operations teams in adopting standardized DevOps processes
• Document technical solutions, operational procedures, and troubleshooting findings
• Contribute to knowledge articles and internal training materials
• Identify recurring issues and suggest practical automation or standardization opportunities
• Gradually develop toward independent ownership of defined platform areas

Qualifications and Requirements

Education and Experience

• Completed vocational training, apprenticeship, degree, or comparable qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Development, or a related field
• Initial practical experience with software development, system administration, cloud services, or infrastructure operations
• Suitable for strong entry-level candidates and junior professionals with first practical experience
• Exposure to Git, scripting, CI/CD, application deployment, or cloud technologies through work, training, internships, or personal projects
• Basic understanding of software delivery and operational support processes
• Experience in an enterprise environment is beneficial but not required

Preferred Knowledge

• Azure DevOps or comparable CI/CD and repository platforms
• Git, repository management, branches, pull requests, and version-control workflows
• YAML-based pipeline definitions and configuration files
• Basic scripting with PowerShell, Python, Bash, or comparable languages
• Build, test, release, and deployment pipeline fundamentals
• Windows and Linux operating system fundamentals
• Azure or another cloud platform

• Service accounts, permissions, certificates, secrets, and technical identities
• Basic Infrastructure as Code concepts using Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates, or similar technologies
• English language skills suitable for an international IT organization
