Lead DevOps Engineer

We are looking for a Lead DevOps Engineer to provide hands-on technical leadership and people leadership for our local DevOps team. You will guide platform reliability, security, and delivery standards while enabling teams to ship software safely, repeatably, and at scale. This role sits at the intersection of engineering execution, platform strategy, and team development - and partners closely with global DevOps leaders to ensure consistency across regions.

This role is not just a team lead - it is a platform leader responsible for bridging regional execution with global standards, elevating DevOps maturity, and enabling both digital client delivery and operational stability.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead and mentor a team of ~7 DevOps engineers through coaching, 1:1s, performance reviews, career development, and hiring/onboarding.
• Define and evolve DevOps standards, patterns, and best practices across CI/CD, infrastructure, automation, and release governance.
• Drive platform reliability and operational excellence using observability (monitoring, logging, alerting) and SRE practices (SLIs/SLOs, error budgets).
• Provide hands-on support for complex issues, escalations, and critical deployments.
• Champion DevSecOps by integrating security controls into pipelines and infrastructure (secrets management, IAM/least privilege, secure pipeline design).
• Partner with Cloud, Infrastructure, Platform, Application, and Operations stakeholders to align delivery models and priorities.
• Reduce operational toil through an automation-first mindset and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with global DevOps leads to align tooling, share patterns, coordinate operational support, and represent regional needs.

You’re comfortable stepping in to review architectures, guide CI/CD and infrastructure decisions, and support your team through complex issues or escalations. While you lead through others, you maintain strong hands-on awareness of modern DevOps practices and tooling, enabling you to make informed decisions, unblock teams quickly, and ensure platform reliability and operational excellence.
• Above all, you lead with a pragmatic, results-focused mindset - developing people, improving how teams work together, and delivering consistent, reliable outcomes at scale.

What You’ll Need:

• 7+ years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, and/or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).
• 2+ years in a senior/lead capacity with demonstrated technical leadership and ownership of outcomes.
• Strong cloud experience (AWS strongly preferred) and modern software delivery practices.
• Experience with CI/CD tooling (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins).
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Pulumi).
• Containerization and orchestration experience (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Scripting and automation skills (Python, Bash, and/or PowerShell).
• Strong communication skills and ability to influence across engineering, leadership, and cross-functional teams—including in distributed/global environments.

Nice to Have:

• Experience in regulated, security-sensitive, and/or high-availability industries.
• Experience designing for high availability and disaster recovery, performance tuning, and scaling strategies.
• DevSecOps depth: secrets management, IAM models, and secure pipeline design.
• Familiarity with observability stacks (Grafana, Prometheus, ELK, etc.).
• Experience collaborating across time zones and driving standards adoption in multi-regional organizations.
• AWS certifications.
• Familiarity with ServiceNow and/or Jira.
• Awareness of compliance requirements in EU contexts (e.g., GDPR).
