About us
Mebit is a fast-growing company in the digital entertainment industry, operating across online gaming and livestreaming. We build in-house, we move quickly, and our legal team works alongside the business rather than at a distance from it. We're currently looking for a commercially minded lawyer with a technology and IP background to join our legal and compliance team and help us keep pace as we grow.
About the role
We're looking for a lawyer to strengthen our legal team across commercial contracting, intellectual property, technology law, strategic transactions and due diligence.
This is a role for a proactive self-starter with a solid private practice background and the ability to adapt quickly to the fast-paced, innovative environment of the digital entertainment industry. You'll work directly with the business — not just on documents, but on decisions.
What you'll do
- Commercial contracting — reviewing, drafting and negotiating the range of contracts that keep the group running: service agreements, licensing agreements, sponsorship agreements, vendor contracts and more.
- Legal advisory — giving internal stakeholders across departments timely, practical advice on technology, privacy, consumer protection and contractual matters.
- Technology law and IP — providing strategic guidance on technology law and software licensing, advising on the protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights, and ensuring compliance with the laws and regulations that apply in the digital entertainment space.
- Strategic transaction support — running due diligence, analysing legal risk, and preparing transaction documents (share sale agreements, asset sale agreements, share subscription agreements) along with supporting corporate documentation such as board and shareholder resolutions.
What we're looking for
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Law, with admission to practice in Serbia or another relevant jurisdiction.
- 3+ years of experience at a reputable law firm or in-house, focused on technology, intellectual property and/or commercial transactions.
- Demonstrated proficiency in reviewing, drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
- Excellent written and verbal English, and the ability to explain legal concepts clearly to non-legal colleagues.
- Proven negotiation skills — the ability to shape outcomes while keeping the relationship with the counterparty intact.
- Experience running several projects at once, prioritising effectively and delivering to tight deadlines. Strong organisational skills and the ability to work autonomously.
Nice to have
- Certifications or further qualifications in technology law, intellectual property law or privacy law.
- Experience structuring and negotiating complex commercial transactions.
- Familiarity with online gambling regulation and/or the livestreaming landscape.
- Knowledge of the technology industry and digital entertainment landscape — emerging trends, regulatory developments and industry best practice.
Who tends to do well here
- Initiative — you spot and address legal issues yourself, without waiting to be directed.
- Adaptability — you work well when priorities shift and the picture isn't fully clear.
- Curiosity — you follow legal and technology developments because they interest you, not because you have to.
- Analytical and creative problem-solving — you can approach a complex problem from more than one angle.
- Attention to detail — from contract drafting to due diligence reviews, you catch the risks and the nuances.
What we offer
- Competitive salary.
- Yearly bonus.
- Birthday gift.
- Private health insurance.
- Access to a wellbeing platform.
- Opportunity for career advancement within the company.
- Training and development programs.
- Work in a pleasant and dynamic environment at our modern office.
- Collaboration in an international team.
- Paid warm meals and a snack bar with beverages and snacks.
- One hour of break within an eight-hour workday.
- Access to a lounge room with recreational amenities.
- Regular team-building activities.
