Legal Counsel General

Purpose of the role:

The purpose of this role is to bolster the legal team's capabilities, by providing legal support in areas such as commercial contracting, intellectual property, technology law, strategic transactions, and due diligence. They will be a proactive self-starter with a solid background in private practice law and the ability to adapt swiftly to the fast-paced and innovative environment of the digital entertainment industry.

Role and Responsibilities: 

• Commercial Contracting: Reviewing, drafting, and negotiating a range of commercial contracts essential to the operations of the group, including but not limited to service agreements, licensing agreements, sponsorship agreements, and vendor contracts.
• Legal Advisory: Providing timely and practical legal advice to internal stakeholders across various departments on a range of legal issues, including technology, privacy, consumer protection, and contractual matters.
• Technology Law: Offering strategic legal guidance to internal stakeholders, spanning technology law and software licensing matters. Advising on the protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations in the digital entertainment landscape.
• Strategic Transaction Support: Assisting in strategic transactions by conducting due diligence, analysing legal risks, and assisting with the preparation of transactional documents (such as share sale agreements, asset sale agreements, and share subscription agreements) and supporting documentation (such as board and shareholder resolutions).

Work Experience and Skills

• Legal Qualifications: A Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Law and with admission to practice in Serbia or other relevant jurisdictions. Relevant certifications in technology law, intellectual property law, or privacy law are desirable. 
• Private Practice Experience: 3+ years of experience practicing law at a reputable law firm or in-house, with a focus on technology, intellectual property, and/or commercial transactions.
• Commercial Contracting Expertise: Demonstrated proficiency in reviewing, drafting, and negotiating commercial contracts, including service agreements, licensing agreements, and vendor contracts. Experience in structuring and negotiating complex commercial transactions is advantageous. 
• Technology and Digital Entertainment Acumen: In-depth knowledge of the technology industry and digital entertainment landscape, including emerging trends, regulatory developments, and industry best practices. Familiarity with online gambling regulations and/or the livestreaming landscape is a plus.
• Communication and Negotiation Skills: Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to communicate legal concepts effectively to non-legal stakeholders. Proven negotiation skills and the ability to influence outcomes while maintaining positive relationships with counterparties.
• Project Management Abilities: Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously, prioritising tasks effectively, and meeting tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational skills and the ability to work autonomously.
