Local Project Manager (Contract)
About the Role
The Local Project Manager will support the delivery of the Belgrade Expo project throughout the design, permitting, fabrication, construction, installation, operation and dismantling phases.
This is not a specialist design, engineering, fabrication or construction position. Architectural, exhibition, interior, MEP, electrical, fire-safety, content, media, fabrication and construction services will be performed by separately appointed Korean and local specialists.
You will support the Korean project team and dispatched specialists in carrying out their work in accordance with Serbian regulations, administrative procedures, local practices and site conditions. The position will also coordinate communication with Serbian authorities, the Expo Organiser, local consultants, contractors, suppliers and other project stakeholders.

Employment Type: Project-based local direct employment (Contract)
Employment Period: 1-year estimate. From the design stage through fabrication, construction, operations and completion of dismantling
Reporting To: Project director
Coordination With: Site project lead
Qualifications
We welcome candidates at different levels:
- Option A – Manager: minimum 6 years of relevant experience
- Option B – Coordinator: minimum 3 years of relevant experience
Required Qualifications:
- Legal residence in Serbia and availability to work in Belgrade or willingness to relocate to Belgrade
- Native or professional-level Serbian
- Strong professional English communication skills
- Strong coordination, organization and stakeholder-management skills
- Ability to manage schedules, documents, approvals and site issues
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office or equivalent software
- Flexibility to work at the project office, site, authorities’ offices and supplier locations
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with international exhibitions, Expos, museums, major events or construction projects
- Experience coordinating permits, inspections or local authorities
- Experience working with international project teams
- Local network of architects, engineers, contractors or suppliers
- Basic understanding of architectural, MEP or construction drawings
- Experience in logistics, customs, safety, quality or technical operations
- Valid driving license
Additional Advantage
- Basic professional working proficiency in Korean is a plus.
Key Responsibilities
A. Project and Stakeholder Coordination
- Act as the main local contact between the Main Project / Technical Team and Serbian stakeholders
- Coordinate schedules, meetings, communications and follow-up actions
- Identify local risks, delays and administrative issues and report them to the Main Project Team
- Support Korean project personnel working in Serbia
- Maintain key project records, approvals and action lists
B. Technical, Permit and Approval Support
- Research relevant Serbian regulations, Expo requirements and local site conditions
- Coordinate with local architects, engineers, authorities and licensed specialists
- Support site surveys, document preparation, submissions, inspections and approvals
- Track authority comments, supplementary requests and approval status
- Identify potential impacts of local requirements or design changes on schedule, cost and construction
C. Contractors, Procurement and Logistics
- Identify and coordinate local consultants, contractors, suppliers and logistics providers
- Support quotations, capability checks and contractor communications
- Confirm local availability, pricing and lead times
- Monitor procurement, delivery, customs, storage and installation schedules
- Support resolution of delivery, customs, quality and supply issues
D. Construction, Handover and Operations
- Support site access, work permits, safety procedures and worker registration
- Coordinate site activities, contractors, deliveries and interfaces
- Attend site meetings and track progress, issues and corrective actions
- Support testing, inspections, snagging, commissioning and handover
- Coordinate local technical and operational support during the Expo period
E. Dismantling and Close-out
- Coordinate dismantling schedules, permits, logistics and waste disposal
- Support removal, re-export, storage or disposal of exhibition materials and equipment
- Support final inspections, site reinstatement and project close-out
F. Language, Compliance and Administration
- Support English–Serbian communication, translation and meeting interpretation
- Summarise official correspondence, approval conditions and technical comments
- Support compliance with local labour, safety, fire and site requirements
- Protect confidential information and comply with company ethics policies
- Do not create legal, contractual or financial obligations without formal authorization
Project Manager & Coordinator is not responsible for personally performing:
- Architectural, engineering, fire-safety, exhibition or specialist design
- Specialist calculations, fabrication drawings or construction work
- Legal, tax or accounting advice
- Statutory certification, professional signing or licensed supervision
- Certified legal translation or professional simultaneous interpretation
- The role is responsible for identifying and coordinating the appropriate professionals, authorities and contractors.
