Metallurgical Process Engineer

Position: Metallurgical Process Engineer (m/f)

Workplace: The work is field based with extensive travels and is performed worldwide.

Main responsibilities:

• Support cold tests, hot commissioning, ramp-up and performance tests.  
• Monitor and optimize process parameters, product quality, yield, productivity and plant stability.  
• Troubleshoot process issues with mechanical, electrical and automation teams. 
• Train customer operators and provide on-site technical support. 
• Prepare process documentation and report results and improvement opportunities.

Requirements:

• University degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Engineering or a related field.  
• Knowledge of metallurgical processes and steel-plant equipment in at least one of these areas: steelmaking and meltshop, flat products, or long products.
• Steel-plant, process-engineering or commissioning experience is an advantage; motivated recent graduates are welcome. 
• Good English and computer skills. 
• Practical problem-solving, teamwork and clear communication. 
• Mobility : this is a field-based position and intensive international travel is mandatory. The successful candidate will work at customer plants worldwide for approximately eight months per year, in rotations of up to three months.
