Metrology and Laboratory Engineer

General purpose:

Responsible for developing and implementing measurement and laboratory methodologies in line with customer specifications and internal standards. The role includes validation and acceptance of new measurement equipment, execution of MSA and calibration activities, and providing comprehensive reporting to management on all metrology‑related processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Developing measurement and laboratory control methods for new products in accordance with customer specifications, industry standards, and internal quality requirement;
• Planning laboratory and measurement equipment for new projects;
• Receiving and validating new measurement equipment based on supplier‑defined requirements;
• Executing measurement system analysis (MSA) according to MSA plan, updating MSA plans for new equipment;
• Executing, updating and monitoring internal schedules for laboratory equipment calibration;
• Performing and monitoring measurements of characteristics defined in the control plan and completing SPC cards where required;
• Preparing and maintaining technical documentation, calibration records, and laboratory reports;
• Participating in internal and external system, process and product audits within the area of responsibility;
• Training colleagues with lower qualifications or experience in the relevant area;
• Creating work instructions and procedures within the area of responsibility.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree (preferably in technical field);
• Minimum 3 years of experience in metrology / laboratory work (experience in automotive industry is a strong advantage);
• Good knowledge of core quality tools (SPC and MSA);
• Proficiency with measurement equipment (CMM, optical systems, gauges) and related software (official certification is a strong advantage);
• Knowledge of IATF 16949;
• Knowledge of IPC‑A‑610 and ESD standards would be considered as advantage;
• Good knowledge of MS Office;
• Upper‑intermediate level of English;
• Excellent organizational and follow-up skills;
• Strong competence in problem solving, planning, and decision making.
