Mining Engineer

DPM Metals Inc. is a Canadian-based, international mining company engaged in the acquisition, exploration, development, mining, and processing of precious metals. DPM operates across Serbia, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Ecuador with headquarters in Toronto, Canada.

For the needs of our “Čoka Rakita” Project department in the in the territory of the municipality of Žagubica, we are currently looking to recruit a candidate for the Mining Engineer position.

Role Purpose:

Takes part in the development of projects, drill designs, plans and schedules for the underground mining operations during study, planning (FEL), execution, commissioning and handover phases, to ensure efficient and timely completion of projects in compliance with required standards, Company procedures and Environment, Health and Safety regulations in multinational settings.

Description of responsibilities:

• Plan, develop, and review mining engineering designs, schedules, and technical solutions to support safe, efficient, and cost-effective mining operations and capital projects.
• Coordinate contractors, suppliers, consultants, and internal teams to ensure project activities, equipment deliveries, and construction works are executed in line with scope, schedule, budget, and technical requirements.
• Monitor project costs, resources, and progress, prepare estimates and technical documentation, and recommend corrective actions to address delays, variations, and budget overruns.
• Support tendering, procurement, bid evaluation, and contract administration activities, including preparation of scopes of work, technical queries, change requests, and other project correspondence.
• Ensure all engineering works and mining activities comply with applicable technical standards, statutory requirements, and Serbian regulatory obligations.
• Provide technical support to operations and other engineering disciplines, while identifying opportunities to improve mining processes, project execution, and operational efficiency.
• Lead and support team performance through task delegation, objective setting, performance reviews, coaching, and continuous development of team capability.
• Promote and enforce high standards of housekeeping, plant and equipment operability, and safe work practices across all areas of responsibility.
• Ensure full compliance with OH&S requirements, deliver safety training, and support the reporting and investigation of incidents, accidents, and unsafe conditions.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering as a minimum, with a valid Mining Engineer license.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in an engineering role, including at least 2 years of project work and 2 years of experience on multidisciplinary projects.
• Very good knowledge of underground mining operations, with a solid understanding of industrial process systems, engineering designs, and design documentation.
• Good knowledge of applicable design codes and standards, with basic understanding of project management processes, budgeting, and cost estimating.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Project, and MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work effectively across multiple disciplines and manage competing project requirements.
• Good command of English, both written and spoken.
• Valid driver’s license and active driving ability.
