Operations Manager (Trucking Industry)

We are looking for an experienced and highly organized Operations Manager to lead our dispatch and operations team, optimize fleet performance, and ensure exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily trucking operations and fleet performance.
• Manage dispatchers, drivers, and operational staff.
• Monitor load planning, driver utilization, and on-time delivery performance.
• Ensure compliance with FMCSA, DOT, and Hours of Service (HOS) regulations.
• Resolve operational issues and provide real-time support to drivers and customers.
• Improve operational efficiency and reduce empty miles.
• Track KPIs, including revenue, utilization, detention, and service levels.
• Coordinate with brokers, customers, and maintenance teams.
• Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Hire, train, and mentor dispatch and operations personnel.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in trucking operations or fleet management.
• Previous leadership or management experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of FMCSA regulations and DOT compliance.
• Experience with TMS, ELD, and load boards (DAT, Truckstop, etc.).
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make sound decisions under pressure.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Workspace.
• Preferred Qualifications
• Experience managing fleets of 20+ trucks.
• Knowledge of dry van, reefer, or flatbed operations.
• Experience with safety and driver performance management.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
