JOB DESCRIPTION
- Prepares and bakes a variety of pastries, desserts, breads, and other baked goods according to established recipes and standards.
- Ensures all ingredients are measured, mixed, and prepared accurately to maintain consistency and quality.
- Decorates pastries and desserts using appropriate techniques and presentation standards.
- Maintains a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation in compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Monitors stock levels of ingredients and informs the supervisor of any shortages or supply needs.
- Assists in planning and developing new pastry items, seasonal menus, and special dessert offerings.
- Follows proper food storage procedures and ensures all products are labeled and stored correctly.
- Operates and maintains kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Coordinates with other kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation and service of all pastry items.
- Adheres to all safety, health, and sanitation policies and procedures.
- Reports any equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or unusual issues to the Head Chef or Pastry Chef.
- Maintains consistency in taste, portioning, and presentation of all pastry items.
REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or culinary/pastry arts certification.
- Previous experience as a Pastry Cook, Baker, or similar role is preferred.
- Knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and kitchen equipment.
- Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
- Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation standards.
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Creativity and attention to detail in pastry presentation.
- Basic knowledge of English language.
