Job Title: Payroll Analyst
Location: Belgrade, on-site
Payroll Specialist (II) is responsible for processing accurate and timely payroll while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Duties include maintaining payroll records, resolving discrepancies, preparing reports, and supporting audits. Collaborates with HR and Finance teams to ensure proper deductions, benefits, and tax filings. Strong attention to detail and knowledge of payroll systems required.
Essential Duties:
- Process end-to-end payroll for Serbia and other European countries using Workday and various payroll systems, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Verify and reconcile payroll inputs, including hours worked, bonuses, commissions, and other earnings or deductions.
- Address payroll-related inquiries and provide guidance to employees regarding payroll matters. Collaborate with the HR team to ensure accurate employee data management in Workday.
- Prepare payroll audits and assist with resolving any discrepancies or issues.
- Process Off-Cycle exception payments as necessary.
- Ensure accuracy of net pay funding requirements.
- Work with payroll vendor to process wage assignments & garnishments.
- Perform various pre and post payroll processing audits to ensure accurate payments to employees, tax filings.
- Prepare GL postings and reconciliations for approval.
- Resolve over/under payments and escalate compliance issues as necessary to the Payroll Manager.
- Maintain highest level confidentially when handling and/or reviewing private information such as; social security numbers, banking account information, earnings statements, etc.
- Participate in various HR/payroll projects and make recommendations on operational task items, system enhancements and optimized employee experience.
- Stay informed about changes and updates to payroll laws and regulations and assist in implementing necessary changes to payroll processes as required.
- Any other relevant tasks assigned to the team such as preparing documentation for sick leave government reimbursement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Economy, Finance, Human Resources, or Business Administration, preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience processing payroll in EMEA Countries primarily Serbia using the Workday and various payroll providers.
- Intermediate Excel skills including V-look-ups and pivot tables.
- Fluent professional level of English.
- Proficient in using payroll/HR software and related tools.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and calculations.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills to troubleshoot payroll-related issues.
- Exceptional professionalism and communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex payroll information to employees.
