Position Summary
The People Services Recruiter is responsible for sourcing and hiring qualified employees and contractors while managing the full recruitment lifecycle and delivering a professional, inclusive candidate experience. This role partners with hiring managers and People Services colleagues to understand workforce needs, determine the appropriate talent model, develop effective sourcing strategies, assess candidates, coordinate selection activities, and support successful onboarding or engagement. The People Services Recruiter uses data, sound judgement, and market insight to attract qualified talent while maintaining compliance with applicable employment, contractor engagement, privacy, and company requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with hiring managers to clarify role requirements, selection criteria, timelines, and recruiting strategies.
- Manage the end-to-end recruitment process for employees and contractors, including job or engagement intake, posting, sourcing, screening, interviewing, offer or contract coordination, pre-employment or pre-engagement activities, and handoff to onboarding.
- Source qualified employees and contractors and develop diverse talent pipelines through job boards, professional networks, referrals, social media, community partnerships, staffing partners, contractor marketplaces, and direct outreach.
- Draft clear, inclusive job postings that accurately reflect role responsibilities and qualifications.
- Conduct structured candidate screens and interviews; provide timely, evidence-based recommendations to hiring teams.
- Coordinate interviews, assessments, feedback, references, background checks, and other pre-employment requirements, as applicable.
- Maintain consistent communication with candidates and hiring managers throughout the recruitment process.
- Prepare accurate offer letters and contractor agreements using approved templates and terms; coordinate approvals and signatures; support negotiations within established parameters; and maintain all required pre-hire and pre-engagement documentation.
- Maintain accurate and current records in the applicant tracking system and other People Services systems.
- Monitor recruiting activity and report on measures such as time to fill, source effectiveness, candidate conversion, offer acceptance, and pipeline health.
- Support recruitment marketing, employer-brand initiatives, career events, and continuous improvement projects.
- Apply company policies and applicable employment, privacy, accessibility, and equal opportunity requirements throughout the hiring process.
Qualifications and Experience
- Post-secondary education in human resources, business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least 4 years of global recruitment or talent acquisition experience, preferably managing multiple vacancies across varied functions or countries.
- Demonstrated experience with candidate sourcing, behavioural interviewing, and applicant tracking systems.
- Working knowledge of applicable recruitment and employment practices.
- Strong written and verbal communication, organization, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities, exercise discretion, and handle confidential information appropriately.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and recruiting technology.
- Professional People Services or recruiting designation is an asset.
- Experience recruiting across multiple jurisdictions or supporting high-growth, distributed, or acquisition-driven organizations is an asset.
- Must be proficient in English verbal and written communication.
- The successful candidate must be able to work a schedule that overlaps with North American Eastern and Central Time business hours, with flexibility to adjust their working hours as needed to support the delivery of recruitment initiatives in a global environment.
