Background: The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) supports Serbia on its path towards EU membership, particularly in the areas of good governance, economic development and climate policy. At the same time, Germany has high economic and political relevance in Serbia and is part of Serbia’s European perspective. This requires proactive, citizen-centered communication that creates transparency and makes it clear that tangible improvements to the living conditions of people in Serbia are a key priority for Germany. GIZ is therefore seeking to highlight the overall impact of its contributions more effectively, so that Serbian citizens can more easily recognize respective progress in their own everyday lives. Qualification and specialist knowledge:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Cinematography, Photography, Visual Arts, Digital Media, or a related field;
• At least 3 to 5 years of professional experience in professional photography and video production;
• Expert knowledge of video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere) and professional photo editing (e.g., Lightroom, Photoshop);
• Proficiency in handling professional camera equipment, lighting, and audio recording devices for high-quality field production;
• Proven experience in storytelling through visual media and working within institutional frameworks for public awareness;
• A strong portfolio (showreel) demonstrating technical precision, creative vision, and the ability to capture human-interest stories;
• Specific technical knowledge regarding copyright, GDPR standards, and consent management for photography and video.

Core tasks:

• Responsible for the development and production of high-quality photo and video content that captures and promotes GIZ Serbia’s results, milestones, and impact;
• Serves as the primary creative point of contact for visual storytelling in regard to videos and photography.
• Independently manages the multimedia production workflow, from initial briefing and script/storyboard development to final editing and archiving;
• Responsible for knowledge management, which includes maintaining and organizing a centralized library of raw and edited photo/video assets for GIZ-wide accessibility.
• Supporting the Development of a new communication strategy for German technical development cooperation with photo and video material
• Provides advice and quality assurance to projects and communication advisers on the correct application of photos and videos.

Main activities:

• Planning and conducting professional photo and video shoots at various project locations and events across Serbia;
• Producing engaging short-form video content, including interviews, documentaries, social media reels, and promotional clips for various GIZ channels (web and social media);
• Performing high-end post-production tasks, such as colour grading, sound editing, and adding motion graphics or subtitles to video material;
• Managing technical equipment and coordinating with external specialized agencies or freelancers when larger productions are required;
• Keeping up-to-date with global and local trends in digital storytelling, video production, and photography to keep GIZ Serbia’s content innovative;
• Performing other PR and communication-related tasks if needed

Competencies and skills:

• Fluent in Serbian, excellent business language skills in English required;
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, particularly the ability to put interviewees at ease during filming;
• Strong ability to work collaboratively within a PR pool and respond constructively to feedback from the Corporate Communication Advisor and project teams;
• Good time management and the ability to deliver high-quality edited material under tight deadlines;
• Proactiveness and creative thinking in finding the best visual angles for diverse project topics;
• Ability and willingness to travel frequently across Serbia and work with people of different backgrounds while maintaining impartiality;
• High level of gender awareness and sensitivity in visual representation;
