Planning Engineer

Job description:

The PowerChina is in need of Planning Engineer in Belgrade, the Republic of Serbia. The daily tasks of this position include, but are not limited to:

1. Prepare, update, and maintain the baseline programme in accordance with contract requirements (e.g. FIDIC).
2. Develop detailed schedules covering design, procurement, and construction activities.
3. Monitor project progress and identify delays, risks, and critical path impacts.
4. Perform schedule analysis, including delay analysis and what-if scenarios.
5. Coordinate with design, procurement, and construction teams to ensure realistic planning.
6. Prepare periodic progress reports (weekly/monthly) for internal and external stakeholders.
7. Support claims preparation related to Extension of Time (EOT) and disruption.
8. Ensure proper integration of interface activities and dependencies.
9. Support continuous improvement of design coordination processes, workflows, and document management practices.

Qualification:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
2. Minimum 5–10 years of experience in planning/scheduling for large infrastructure projects.
3. Strong knowledge of FIDIC contracts and project controls.
4. Proficiency in planning software such as Primavera P6 (mandatory).
5. Experience in delay analysis and claims support.
6. Good understanding of construction methodology and sequencing.
7. Additional qualifications that will be considered as an advantage:
• Fluent in English (written and spoken).
• Experience in international projects or multicultural environments.
• Familiarity with BIM-based planning (4D scheduling) is an advantage.
• Previous work experience in or collaboration with Chinese companies.
