The Project Engineer is responsible for evaluating new product orders and designing the manufacturing process. The Project Engineer also supports the Project Manager’s activities.

Responsibilities:

The project engineer is responsible for the following in considering orders for new products and designing production processes:

  • As a member of a multidisciplinary team, the Project Engineer evaluates whether production can be carried out from both technical and quality perspectives, based on the customer’s product drawings and requirements and using the company’s available equipment, inspection equipment, and jigs.
  • If the requirements specified in the product drawings cannot be fully met, the Project Engineer, as a member of the multidisciplinary team, participates in evaluating and proposing feasible alternative solutions.
  • Project Engineer is responsible for considering and sharing the basic conditions of mold specifications and production conditions within the company.
  • Project Engineer participates in the development of production processes for prototyping and mass production. Based on the results of the review, the Project Engineer consults with relevant departments to determine appropriate actions, proposes them to the Project Manager for decision, and reports the results to the Project Manager.
  • For technically difficult issues, Project Engineer will consider alternatives for the customer, prepare documentation, and report to the project manager.
  • Project Engineer is responsible for the preparation of the technical documentation and conduction of the meetings with customers and mold manufacturers.
  • Project Engineer is also responsible for assisting the project manager.

Main Responsibilities

1. Project Execution Support

  • Promote work based on the new product development schedule, starting from the point of receiving an order from Sales
  • Participate in meetings with internal stakeholders and external parties, such as customers and mold manufacturers, to collect and organize information related to new product development
  • Participate in milestone meetings to provide updates on the progress of assigned responsibilities and gather any required information
  • Assist the Project Manager with their duties

2. Order Consideration

  • Review and organize customer requirements, conduct feasibility studies for new product orders, and develop process design
  • Provide the information necessary for Sales to submit quotations, including basic conditions for mold specifications and production conditions
  • Consult with relevant departments to organize solutions if there are technical or quality issues in the order review and process design
  • Create relevant documents for order consideration and process design
  • Share the results of various reviews with the Project Manager

3. Risk Management

  • Identify potential risks at an early stage and collaborate with relevant departments to establish preventive and corrective actions when receiving an order for a new product

4. Lessons Learned and Continuous Improvement

  • Report and share the experience and knowledge gained during order consideration and process design activities with internal stakeholders
  • Create checklists and procedures as needed for future new product order considerations

Position Requirements:

  • University degree
  • Experience in project management, production technology, quality control, and sales technology in the manufacturing industry

Specialized knowledge and skills:

  • Knowledge of key automotive industry tools such as APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and control plans is a plus.
  • Ability to coordinate and negotiate with customers and various internal departments.
  • Skills in problem identification, problem solving, and progress management.
  • Leadership ability to engage relevant departments and achieve results.
  • Practical skills in MS Office.
  • English communication skills.
  • Good organizational skills and ability to follow tasks, deadlines and project documentation
  • Knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
