AFI Hotel Management Belgrade is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing & Cost Controller for a new Marriott hotel opening to join the finance team.
The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience in procurement and cost control and the ability to ensure efficient purchasing processes and accurate inventory management. This role requires a hands-on professional who can manage supplier relationships, monitor costs and maintain optimal stock levels while ensuring compliance with company procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Purchasing / Procurement
- Managing daily and monthly purchasing activities for all hotel departments (F&B, Housekeeping, Maintenance, etc.)
- Conducting market research and evaluating suppliers based on price, quality and reliability
- Negotiating prices, contracts and terms of cooperation
- Creating and monitoring purchase orders
- Ensuring timely delivery of goods and accurate invoicing
- Monitoring price discrepancies and supplier documentation
Cost Control
- Monitoring food, beverage and operational supply costs
- Performing daily and weekly control of consumption and stock movement
- Controlling waste, losses and overstocking
- Supporting cost optimization initiatives
Warehouse / Inventory
- Supervising receiving, storage and distribution of materials
- Conducting regular and spot stock counts
- Monitoring minimum and maximum stock levels
- Organizing warehouse operations in accordance with hygiene and safety standards
- Recording and processing documentation (invoices, internal transfers)
Candidate Profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Supply Chain, or related field
- Proven experience in purchasing, cost control, or inventory management (hospitality experience is a plus)
- Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
- Good understanding of inventory control procedures and cost analysis
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP Business One is an advantage)
