About the Position
We are looking for a responsible, detail-oriented, and motivated Safety Specialist to join our team and support our trucking operations in the United States. The ideal candidate will help ensure compliance with U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations, maintain driver safety records, and support the daily safety operations of our fleet.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and ensure compliance with DOT and FMCSA safety regulations.
- Maintain and update driver qualification files (DQF).
- Monitor driver records, including CDL status, medical certificates, and required documentation.
- Track and manage Hours of Service (HOS) compliance and ELD records.
- Monitor CSA scores, safety ratings, and driver violations.
- Review accident reports, traffic violations, and safety-related incidents.
- Assist with accident investigations, claims documentation, and follow-up procedures.
- Monitor drug and alcohol testing compliance and maintain required records.
- Coordinate driver onboarding from a safety and compliance perspective.
- Communicate with drivers, dispatchers, insurance companies, and other relevant departments regarding safety issues.
- Follow up on expiring documents, inspections, and compliance deadlines.
- Prepare safety reports and maintain accurate records in company systems.
- Support the implementation of safety policies and procedures to reduce risks and improve fleet performance.
Requirements
- Previous experience in trucking safety, DOT compliance, or U.S. trucking operations is preferred.
- Knowledge of FMCSA and DOT regulations is an advantage.
- Good English communication skills, both written and spoken.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Good computer skills and the ability to work with online platforms and company systems.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently.
