We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Android Engineer to join our team in support of our US-based partner company. Our partner operates a diversified, M&A-driven platform spanning mobile apps, device licensing, media, and financial services. It is the parent company of a portfolio of technology businesses, including a mobile business that empowers users worldwide to monetize everyday mobile activities such as streaming, gaming, and shopping.
As a Senior Android Engineer, you will join the Android development team. You’ll build and extend the cutting edge mobile application that supports hundreds of thousands of consumers every day. You’ll own projects from start to finish, working closely with other engineers, as well as our product and design team, applying scalable development patterns, maintainable code practices, and sharp technical decisions that help shape the architecture of the future.
Responsibilities:
- Taking projects from planning through technical implementation, deployment, and post-deployment. Projects will include ad monetization, gamification, and more
- Writing high-quality, stable, maintainable, and well-tested code.
- Drive best practices in testing, code quality, and performance while being a strong advocate for unit/integration testing
- Switching between working solo and collaboratively to complete projects quickly.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, Design, Backend) to understand and meet the customer’s needs
- Lead technical design discussions and code reviews
Technology
- Our partner has a modern Android project, written primarily in Kotlin, and utilizing Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, and Dagger.
- They invest heavily in automated testing, with a strong foundation of unit tests and have recently adopted Espresso for integration and E2E testing.
- Their CI/CD is automated through GitHub Actions, and they release weekly.
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience building large, world-class Android apps, preferably with experience using: Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, Dagger, MVI, Clean Architecture
- User-focused engineer. Your #1 priority is solving problems for users.
- Experience building Android apps with ads, including ad networks integrations, ad caching, and performance monitoring. Bonus points if you have experience with AppLovin and MAX mediation.
- Experience adding gamification into your apps to create delight and drive engagement. Think: leaderboards, badges, celebrations, encouragements, progress tracking, streaks, etc.
- Experience with automated testing and continuous delivery.
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
- Exceptional organizational and analytical skills leading to confident, independent delivery.
- Ready to deliver high-quality features at a fast pace
