Job summary:

As a backend software engineer you’ll join our engineering team and be in charge of HomeStory’s big data platform and large scale API services.

Our requirements:

  • 3+ years with Java, Scala, Python or JS
  • Degree in computer programming, computer science, or a related field
  • Strong computer science background in algorithms, data structures and software design
  • Focus on efficiency, user experience and process improvement
  • Excellent project and time management skills
  • Strong problem solving and verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently or with a group
  • Experience with the following technologies considered a plus:
    • AWS in particular Serverless (Cloudformation, Cloudwatch, EC2, Lambda, RDS, Dynamo,   S3, Glue, Athena, EMR)
    • Hadoop, Solr, Cassandra, Postgres
    • General Data Pipelines or Web Services
