Senior Bi & Data Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive data analytics solutions and strategies tailored specifically for the logistics industry.
• Develop and optimize data extraction and transformation pipelines (ETL/ELT), focusing on incremental data processing and aggregation using Azure Databricks and Synapse Analytics or similar.
• Design and optimize data models and transformation layers within Data Lakehouse environments, leveraging the Medallion Architecture.
• Design, develop and contribute to the optimization of reports, including data models, visualizations, and dashboards, using Power BI or similar reporting tools.
• Optimize performance of the data analytics environment, automating daily tasks, monitoring system performance, and planning for capacity.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues within the data environment, ensuring system reliability.
• Collaborate with clients to analyze business requirements, prepare project documentation, design data solutions, and propose alternatives where necessary.
• Lead and mentor less experienced developers, organize technical tasks, define best practices, and conduct code reviews to maintain high standards of code quality.

About you

• 4+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Data Engineering, or related roles, with a strong technical background in Data Warehousing (DWH), Data Lakehouse, ETL, and Reporting.
• Extensive experience with:
• SQL and relational database concepts (e.g., MS SQL, Oracle, DB2).
• ETL/ELT tools and data integration (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks or similar) for batch and near-real-time processing.
• Data Lakehouse and DWH design and implementation, including data modeling.
• Reporting and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
• Python programming for data processing and analytics.
• Strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
• Readiness to learn and adopt new technologies, demonstrating a strong commitment to quality.
• Excellent communication skills, with experience in client-facing roles.
• Fluent in English.

It would be a plus to have

• Experience in implementing solutions within the logistics industry, with an understanding of logistics processes and products.
• Experience in leading project lifecycles, mentoring junior developers
• Knowledge of streaming technologies, distributed storage, containerized applications (Docker, Kubernetes), and serverless computing.
• Familiarity with Azure services/Microsoft Fabric for data engineering and analytics.
• Experience with project management tools (e.g., JIRA) and version control (e.g., Azure DevOps)
