Job title: Senior Core Network Engineer

Office location: Spanskih boraca, Belgrade - Hybrid working (3 days in the office)

About the role:

  • Maintain core network services
  • Network optimization and implementation of network services
  • Manage and handle network incidents
  • Create and keep network documentation up to date and run small network projects
  • Keep a high level of customer satisfaction by delivering reliable broadband service to the customers

What will you be doing?

Maintain core network services 

  • Perform daily maintenance and operational tasks on core and aggregation network devices
  • Configure and deploy new core network services
  • Install software updates, firmware, and security patches on network equipment
  • Update switches with the latest configurations
  • Monitor network performance and availability using Network Management Systems (NMS)

Network optimisation and implementation of network services

  • Plan, test, and implement new network services and solutions
  • Execute planned maintenance activities with minimal impact on customers and business operations
  • Perform migration of network services and infrastructure
  • Optimize core, aggregation, and access network performance
  • Prepare configurations for new core and aggregation switches
  • Plan and support network expansion
  • Implement scalable and resilient network solutions aligned with business requirements

Manage and handle network incidents

  • Respond promptly to alarms and incidents reported via monitoring tools, ticketing systems, or email alerts
  • Provide technical support and guidance to Technology Operations Centre (TOC) engineers
  • Maintain clear communication with internal and external stakeholders during incident resolution
  • Document network issues, corrective actions, and provide reports to management
  • Escalate incidents to vendors or relevant teams when necessary to ensure rapid resolution
  • Proactively identify and mitigate potential network risks and service disruptions
  • Troubleshoot network issues efficiently to minimize downtime and maintain service continuity

Create and keep network documentation up to date

  • Create and maintain documentation related to planned maintenance activities
  • Keep accurate and up to date records of network incidents and resolutions
  • Create and keep up to date technical documentation for network projects and infrastructure

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree in the relevant field
  • CCIE and CCNP certification or relevant experience in an ISP or Telecom company
  • Previous experience in network engineering including design, planning, installation, test and maintenance of IT networks
  • Deep understanding of Ethernet, MPLS, IP, Routing and broadband technologies and protocols
  • Hands on network troubleshooting skills
  • Good written & spoken English language skills
