Senior Maintenance Technician

Job description:

As a Senior Maintenance Technician, you are the all-rounder of the team, combining mechanical, electrical, and PLC/automation know-how in a single role. You step in wherever the team needs support, whether covering vacation, illness, or periods of high workload, and you help junior colleagues build up their own cross-disciplinary skills.

• Support the team across all three disciplines: mechanical, electrical, and PLC/automation maintenance
• Cover shifts flexibly during vacation, illness, or periods of high workload
• Perform mechanical maintenance such as lubrication and wear part replacement
• Support electrical troubleshooting, including sensor replacement and wiring repairs
• Assist with PLC diagnostics, including the analysis of error messages
• Work closely with all colleagues and the remote engineering support team, and share know-how with less experienced team members

Requirements:

• Completed technical training as a Mechatronics Technician, Industrial Mechanic, Electrician, or comparable qualification
• Solid professional experience in the maintenance and servicing of automated systems, ideally across more than one discipline
• Broad technical understanding, with working knowledge in mechanics, electrical systems, and ideally PLC/automation as well
• English language skills, minimum B1/B2 level, for team communication and remote support
• High flexibility for 24/7 shift work – team works in a 3-shift model with 6 employees rotating across all shifts, so no one is permanently assigned to a single shift. On average, each technician works the night shift only about once every few months.
• Strong willingness to learn, adaptability, and dependable team skills
• Nice to have: experience with storage and retrieval machines, conveyor technology, or automated warehouse systems, knowledge of industrial drive technology and Siemens PLC (TIA Portal)
