Senior Payroll Specialist

The Payroll Senior Specialist is responsible for managing time and attendance, payroll processing, and payroll reporting. The role ensures that payroll reports are accurately prepared, downloaded, securely stored, and backed up in the company’s archives. The Payroll Senior Specialist also prepares custom reports from HRIS systems as needed.

Essential Functions

• Collect and process payroll data and ensure accurate and timely payroll processing in accordance with established payroll calendars and applicable regulations, including tax declarations, required legal forms, and sick leave calculations.
  Support managers, timekeepers, and schedulers in using time and attendance systems to ensure accurate timekeeping for all employees.
• Communicate with payroll system vendors to support accurate and timely payroll processing.
• Extract payroll data and import it into company systems after each payroll cycle.
• Enter, maintain, and extract data from HRIS systems for reporting, compliance, and metrics.
• Provide administrative support by processing payroll-related expenses and reimbursements and responding to employment verification requests.
• Stay up to date with payroll compliance requirements and payroll system updates through continuous professional development.
• Support special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics or a related field.

Work Experience & Skills

• Minimum of 4 years of payroll processing experience preferred.
• Advanced experience with HRIS systems.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Professional, organized, detail-oriented, and customer-service-oriented.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
