Senior Safety Manager (Remote)

MDK Trucking Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Safety Manager to lead our Safety Department and ensure full compliance with FMCSA, DOT, and company safety standards.

Location: Remote (Work from Home)

Responsibilities

• Oversee all company safety and compliance operations
• Ensure compliance with FMCSA, DOT, and state regulations
• Monitor driver safety performance, HOS compliance, and ELD data
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and safety violations
• Conduct driver onboarding, safety orientation, and ongoing training
• Manage driver qualification (DQ) files and compliance documentation
• Monitor CSA scores and implement improvement strategies
• Develop and enforce company safety policies and procedures
• Coordinate drug & alcohol testing programs
• Manage vehicle inspections, maintenance compliance, and DOT audits
• Coach drivers on safe driving practices and corrective actions
• Prepare safety reports for company management
• Communicate with insurance companies, regulatory agencies, and third-party compliance providers

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of trucking safety and compliance experience
• Strong knowledge of FMCSA and DOT regulations
• Experience with ELD systems (Samsara, Motive, Geotab, or similar)
• Experience managing DOT audits and compliance programs
• Excellent leadership and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication skills in English (written and spoken)
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions
• High attention to detail and excellent organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience managing a fleet of 50+ commercial vehicles
• Knowledge of CSA, SMS, Clearinghouse, and driver qualification requirements
• Experience with accident investigations and claims management
