Tax Specialist

The Role

Our Finance Team is currently seeking a Tax Specialist to join us in our Belgrade office. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic international environment and contribute to the tax compliance and financial operations of a leading regional law firm.

As a Tax Specialist, you will play an important role in ensuring the company’s tax compliance, monitoring regulatory developments, and supporting financial processes in cooperation with internal and external stakeholders.

Collaboration and professionalism are highly valued within our firm. In this role, you will work closely with the Finance Team, management, external advisors, auditors, and tax authorities, contributing to the smooth and compliant operation of the business.

Responsibilities Include:

• Monitoring changes in tax legislation and implementing new tax rules within the company’s operations
• Preparing and submitting tax returns independently and within statutory deadlines (VAT, corporate income tax, withholding tax, personal income tax)
• Reviewing tax filings prepared by the Accounting team
• Interpreting tax regulations in relation to regular and specific business activities and ensuring compliance with applicable tax laws
• Analysing tax implications of transactions and advising management on tax-related matters
• Communicating with the Tax Administration, reconciling tax accounts, and assisting during tax audits
• Participating in the preparation of transfer pricing documentation and coordinating with external providers
• Receiving, reviewing, and preparing documentation for accounting and audit purposes
• Supporting other finance-related activities in line with the requests of the Partners and Finance Manager

Key Skills and Experience Required:

• University degree in Economics or Law
• Minimum three years of relevant professional experience
• Good understanding of tax legislation and accounting principles
• Experience working with accounting software and electronic tax administration portals (SEF, eUprava, ePorezi)
• Strong analytical, detail-oriented, and methodical approach
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Professional working proficiency in Serbian and English
