TPS Engineer |
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare for and participate in Total Process Safety (TPS) assessments and audits to improve process safety performance. Ensure that all actions resulting from reviews and collaboration with cross-functional teams are properly tracked and completed.
- Participate in Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) studies, including HAZOP, LOPA, What-If, and Dust Hazard Analysis (DHA).
- Lead PHA studies when assigned.
- Prepare documentation required for PHA sessions.
- Track and follow up on action items resulting from PHA studies.
- Maintain PHA documentation using the LEADER/ARA software.
- Monitor and verify compliance with ADM Global TPS policies and standards.
- Be responsible for the implementation and monitoring of the 20 TPS Elements at the site, while identifying and driving continuous improvement opportunities.
- Support compliance with Loss Prevention Principles (LPP) standards aligned with ADM Global and TPS objectives.
- Participate in Process Safety incident investigations and recommend and implement corrective and preventive actions where appropriate.
- Develop, maintain, and update TPS safety manuals and written process safety programs.
- Organize, coordinate, and deliver TPS-related training programs, while managing the associated training system.
- Monitor and report process safety performance by analyzing TPS metrics on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Develop, revise, and maintain TPS procedures, operating manuals, and written programs. Manage document reviews, updates, approvals, and publication through the PolicyTech platform, while providing technical guidance in document development.
- Implement ADM Corporate and Business Unit Process Safety Management (TPS) programs at the Sojaprotein site.
- Serve as the site Management of Change (MOC) Champion and Subject Matter Expert (SME) by coordinating and monitoring the MOC process.
- Enter, maintain, and monitor TPS-related information within the Sphera Cloud platform, including incidents, MOCs, corrective actions, training records, audits, and process safety statistics.
- Maintain and update Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), including performing minor revisions as required.
- Support engineering and manufacturing projects by providing Process Safety guidance and technical recommendations.
- Advise project teams on process safety requirements and appropriate safeguarding measures for capital projects, including performing risk assessments using the applicable ADM Risk Matrix.
- Propose annual TPS objectives, monitor their implementation, and support the achievement of site Process Safety goals.
- Lead the site's TPS Maturity Self-Assessment to evaluate and improve the overall Process Safety Management maturity of ADM Sojaprotein.
- Prepare Process Safety reports and management review materials for leadership.
Education and Professional Qualifications:
- University degree/diploma, degree(s), specialization in mechanical engineering, technical or technological disciplines, occupational health and safety, relevant work/business experience, etc.
- Educational background in an engineering or safety-related discipline.
- Fluency in English.
- Relevant technical education and experience in process safety.
- At least 1 year of experience working in a process/manufacturing environment.
- Good IT skills, with experience in safety management systems and mechanical and electrical maintenance.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Willingness and ability to develop within an engineering/safety role in a global organization.
- This role requires on-site presence.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to lead meetings and communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels.
