Transport & Distribution Supervisor

We are looking for a Transport & Distribution Supervisor to coordinate and support our transportation activities in Serbia. This role combines team leadership with hands-on operational responsibility. You will supervise a team of transport specialists, ensure smooth daily execution of shipments, support problem-solving activities, and help continuously improve service performance and customer satisfaction.

What will you be responsible for?

Transportation Operations & Daily Coordination

• Coordinate and support daily inbound and outbound transportation activities.
• Participate in transportation planning, shipment execution, and operational problem-solving.
• Ensure timely, reliable, and cost-effective delivery performance.
• Support route planning, carrier allocation, shipment consolidation, and capacity management.
• Monitor transportation activities and proactively resolve operational issues.
• Ensure transportation documentation and operational processes are completed accurately and on time.

Team Supervision & People Management

•  Supervise, support, and develop the transportation operations team.
• Organize daily workloads and allocate tasks according to business priorities. 
• Provide guidance, coaching, and operational support to team members. 
• Monitor team performance and service quality against established KPIs. 
• Conduct regular performance discussions and support employee development.
• Participate in recruitment, onboarding, and training activities. 
• Foster a collaborative, customer-focused, and accountable team culture. 

Warehouse & Cross-Functional Coordination

•  Act as the key link between transportation operations, warehouse teams, and customers. 
• Coordinate shipment priorities, loading schedules, delivery appointments, and operational capacity. 
• Support smooth communication across logistics functions. 
• Assist in resolving operational bottlenecks affecting transportation performance. 
• Participate in daily operational reviews and planning meetings. 

Carrier & Customer Management

• Build and maintain strong relationships with transportation providers and logistics partners. 
• Monitor carrier performance and support service improvement initiatives. 
• Manage transportation disruptions, delays, claims, and service issues. 
• Serve as an escalation point for operational challenges while remaining actively involved in their resolution. 
• Ensure timely communication with customers and stakeholders regarding service performance. 

Cost Control & Administration

• Support transportation billing and invoice verification activities. 
• Ensure transportation costs are validated and properly recorded. 
• Assist with financial reconciliation and reporting processes. 
• Work closely with Finance and Procurement teams on transportation-related matters. 
• Monitor operational costs and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.

Continuous Improvement & Performance Management

• Monitor and analyze logistics KPIs, including: -OTIF (On-Time In-Full) 
  - Carrier performance 
  - Transportation costs 
  - Delivery lead times 
  - Customer service levels 
  - Claims and incident rates 
• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and service quality. 
• Support implementation of process improvement initiatives, SOPs, and best practices. 
• Contribute to the effective use of TMS, ERP, and logistics systems. 

Compliance & Safety

• Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, company policies, and customer requirements. 
• Support internal and external audits. 
• Promote safe working practices and operational compliance across the team. 

What are we looking for?

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in transportation, logistics, distribution, or supply chain operations
• Previous experience coordinating, supervising, or leading a small operational team
• Strong hands-on experience with transportation planning and daily logistics operations
• Ability to combine operational execution with team leadership responsibilities
• Experience working with carriers, logistics providers, and customers
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Experience with transportation billing, cost control, and operational administration
• Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and logistics systems (TMS, ERP)
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Serbian language proficiency (mandatory)
• Professional working proficiency in English
• Experience in an international or multinational environment is an advantage
• Experience in 3PL, automotive, manufacturing, retail, FMCG, or similar industries is an advantage
• Category B driving license is an advantage
