Windows Server Administrator (French speaking)

About the Role

On behalf of our client operating in the fields of passenger and freight transport and responsible for the management, operation, and maintenance of the national railway network, Adecco is looking for a Windows Server Administrator (French speaking).

This position is based in Sofia, Bulgaria, and includes relocation support from Serbia, making it an excellent opportunity for candidates looking to further develop their careers in an international environment.

In this role, you will work both independently and as part of a team, resolving technical issues and delivering solutions aligned with business needs. There is no direct end-user interaction, as communication is handled through ticketing systems, email, and phone calls with internal teams and client IT representatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer Windows servers (server restarts, service checks, Event Viewer/syslog analysis, monitoring CPU, RAM, and filesystem usage)
• Develop and maintain automation and evaluation scripts using PowerShell
• Manage systems using virtualization technologies (VMware vSphere/vCenter, Hyper-V, etc.)
• Identify and troubleshoot issues across OS, databases, middleware, and network layers
• Monitor alerts and manage incidents within the Windows server environment
• Support the implementation of Active Directory standards (naming conventions, delegation models, etc.)
• Handle and resolve complex tickets or escalate them when necessary
• Coordinate with security teams and other technical units
• Diagnose hardware issues and collaborate with Data Center teams
• Ensure proper ticket troubleshooting and dispatching in line with defined processes and SLA requirements
• Process service requests received via email
• Maintain effective communication with internal and external teams
• Support operations during high-volume periods or critical incidents

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is considered an advantage
• Experience working with Windows Server environments (2003/2008/2012/2022 or similar)
• Strong knowledge of PowerShell scripting
• Experience with Active Directory administration
• Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V)
• Basic knowledge of databases (MSSQL, Oracle)
• Experience with backup solutions (Data Protector, HPE StorageWorks, NetBackup, or similar)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Proactive approach to learning new technologies and troubleshooting unfamiliar issues
• Team-oriented mindset with good communication skills
• French language proficiency (minimum B2 level)
• English language proficiency (minimum B1 level)
