Business Development Associate

Mediterranean Shipping Company is searching for a Business Development Associate to join our Belgrade office. The successful candidate will be reporting to the Business Development Manager. 

About the Role 

We are seeking a motivated and internationally minded Business Development Associate to support the growth of our Chinese client portfolio in Serbia and the wider region. This role is ideal for candidates who value long-term relationship building, cross-cultural collaboration, and strategic market development. 

You will play a key role in strengthening partnerships with Chinese companies, identifying new business opportunities, and supporting the company’s expansion strategy. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Develop and maintain relationships with Chinese clients and partners  
• Identify new business opportunities and support market expansion  
• Conduct market research (Serbia, region, China)  
• Promote the company’s services to potential Chinese clients and partners 
• Organize and attend business meetings, events, and conferences  
• Proactively report client feedback, concerns, or potential risks, and suggest practical solutions 
• Collect and analyze market data related to Chinese investors and business opportunities 
• Support business development strategy and client communication  
• Translate business communication (Chinese ↔ English)

Requirements: 

• University degree and/or relevant professional experience  
• Proficiency in MS Office and general computer skills 
• Strong verbal and written communication skills  
• Adaptability and openness to change  
• Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers  
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills  
• Teamwork and collaboration skills  
• Proactive approach to work  
• Problem-solving mindset 
• Native-level proficiency in Chinese (mandatory)  
• B2 level of English (mandatory)
