DPM Metals is a Canadian-based, international mining company engaged in the acquisition, exploration, development, mining, and processing of precious metals properties. DPM operates across Bulgaria, Serbia and Ecuador with headquarters in Toronto, Canada.
For the needs of our CSR team in Zagubica we are currently looking to recruit a candidate for the CSR officer position.
Role Purpose:
A Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) officer acts as a company’s ‘conscience’, championing and developing the ethical, environmentally friendly, and community-minded side of a business. The job involves creating links between a company and the community, raising positive awareness of the organization’s commitment to sustainable social responsibility.
CSR officer collaborates with stakeholders to promote ethical, sustainable, and socially responsible practices that align with the company's values and contribute positively to society and the environment.
Description of responsibilities:
- Staffing the Zagubica office during opening hours, to provide a contact point for the local community;
- Communicating with community members regarding current exploration activities and plans, in accordance with the business strategy of the company;
- Developing relationships with local institutions such as educational centers (schools), associations and NGO’s and developing programs that assist in informing members of the public about exploration and mining, with respect to the company’s ongoing activities;
- Coordinate flow of information and communication and disseminate it according to communication plan/strategy;
- Conduct field visits to collect both written and visual documentation in the form of photography, videos, human interest stories and case studies;
- Assisting with administrative tasks within Zagubica (for example the local municipality, cadaster office, employment office) on behalf of the company;
- Analyze and suggest solutions for social, environmental and economic issues;
- Logistic support for the outgoing activities in the Zagubica area;
- Assisting with the development and distribution of PR materials, including brochures, pamphlets, newsletters, and videos;
- Invent ways to streamline communication and plan execution;
- Assist in preparation of CSR budgets in consultation with CSR Specialist and Finance team;
- Coordinate CSR reporting, including managing our partners and community databases;
- Develop and update the CSR register and submit it regularly to the person in charge;
- File, maintain and archive relevant documents properly;
- Maintaining the office in a manner that reflects the professionalism of the company.
- Provide assistance organization and execution of different events;
- Support project implementation processes as directed by the Supervisor; Ensuring communication and visibility plans are in place and incorporated in implementation and procurement plans for projects;
- Work with other team members in summarizing and presenting information from assessments that highlight achievements, lessons and recommendations with key internal and external stakeholders;
- Prepare and update briefing materials for high level meetings, publicity, and advocacy in collaboration with other DPM staff;
- Provide support and collect information and documentation in the land acquisition process.
Requirements:
- University degree in the area of business administration, sustainability studies, social compliance or equivalent or High school diploma with relevant working experience;
- Prior experience within a similar role (1-2 years of work experience required);
- Independent and pro-active working style as well as the ability to work in a team;
- Good communication and interpersonal skills;
- Problem solving mind set with attention to details;
- Fluent in spoken and written English;
- Good knowledge of MS office (Words, Excel, PowerPoint);
- Active driver;
- Knowledge of the rules and regulations governing Charities, IPCs (Institutions of Public Character), and best practices for CSR will be an advantage;
- Strong expertise in managing relationships, networks, and teams that include a diverse group of people representative of the public and private sectors, community-based organizations, nonprofits, and civic leaders, as well as program beneficiaries;
