Flatbed Specialist / Flatbed Freight Broker

Role Description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Flatbed Specialist / Flatbed Freight Broker to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient transportation operations, maintaining strong relationships with clients and carriers, and achieving assigned targets. This role involves coordinating shipments, managing client needs, and resolving any challenges that arise during transportation. You will also participate in RFP pricing, as well as quoting on spot freight.

Key Responsibilities:

• Achieving assigned performance targets and contributing to overall company goals.
• Building and maintaining long-term relationships with clients, carriers, and internal stakeholders.
• Managing client communication by understanding shipment requirements, addressing inquiries, and providing timely updates on flatbed freight movements.
• Identifying and coordinating with reliable flatbed carriers and appropriate equipment to ensure safe and efficient transportation.
• Planning and coordinating transportation routes and schedules, monitoring active shipments, and proactively resolving issues to ensure on-time delivery while optimizing costs.
• Negotiating rates and terms with carriers, preparing and sending client quotes, and completing required documentation and administrative tasks.
• Staying informed about industry trends, regulations, and market conditions affecting flatbed transportation.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Flatbed Freight Broker or Flatbed Dispatcher and solid understanding of flatbed-specific requirements (tarps, chains, binders, oversize loads, securement regulations ect.)
• Strong understanding of transportation logistics, market fluctuations and pricing
• Excellent communication skills (verbal & written) in English
• Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite
