Front-end Web Developer

Proctorio is looking for a Web Developer to join our small and dynamic Design team in Scottsdale. We are looking for someone to help us improve and build upon the world’s leading fully automated proctoring solution.

As a Web Developer, your role is to design, develop, and maintain a highly functional website and certain web applications. You will collaborate with a team of designers, content creators, and other developers to deliver responsive, user-friendly, and efficient web solutions. Your expertise will be crucial in translating client requirements into seamless web experiences, ensuring the overall success of Proctorio's website and other projects.

Job Responsibilities:

• Front-End Development: Utilize HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to build intuitive and visually engaging user interfaces. Implement responsive design principles to ensure compatibility across various devices and screen sizes.
• Back-End Development: Develop server-side logic, database structures, and APIs to facilitate data exchange and interaction between the front-end and back-end components of web applications.
• Content Management: Integrate internal content management systems to enable other team members to manage and update website content easily.
• Cross-Browser and Cross-Device Testing: Conduct thorough testing to ensure websites and applications function flawlessly across different web browsers, operating systems, and devices.
• Performance Optimization: Optimize website loading speed, code efficiency, and overall performance to enhance user experience and search engine rankings.
• Security Measures: Implement security best practices to protect web applications from potential threats and vulnerabilities.
• Collaboration: Work closely with designers, stakeholders, and other developers to understand project requirements and collaborate on project planning and execution.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Proficiency in front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.js.
• Strong understanding of back-end programming languages like C#, PHP, Python, or Node.js, and experience with frameworks like .Net or Express.js.
• Knowledge of database management systems, such as MySQL, MongoDB, or PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) for efficient collaboration within a development team.
• Experience with responsive design principles and mobile-first development.

• Solid understanding of web accessibility standards and practices.
• Basic knowledge of user experience (UX) design principles.

Education and Experience:

• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field is typically required, although relevant experience and a strong portfolio may be considered in lieu of a formal degree.
• Previous experience as a web developer, either through internships, personal projects, or professional employment, is highly beneficial.
